Publication Ethics Statement
The Journal of Global Trends in Artificial Intelligence (JGTAI) is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct in all aspects of the publication process. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher to ensure integrity, transparency, and fairness in scholarly publishing, in alignment with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Author Responsibilities
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original, unpublished work that is not under consideration elsewhere. All sources must be appropriately cited, and plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. JGTAI uses plagiarism detection tools to screen submissions.
- Authorship and Contribution: All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript preparation. Authors should agree on the final manuscript and its submission. Non-contributing individuals should not be listed as authors, and all contributors should be acknowledged appropriately.
- Data Integrity and Reproducibility: Authors must ensure the accuracy and integrity of data presented. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is unacceptable. Where applicable, authors should provide access to data or materials to support reproducibility, in line with open-access principles.
- Ethical Research Practices: Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with relevant ethical guidelines and regulations, including obtaining necessary approvals (e.g., Institutional Review Board or Ethics Committee approval). Authors must disclose such approvals in the manuscript.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation. A conflict of interest statement must be included in the manuscript.
- Acknowledgment of Funding: Authors must acknowledge all funding sources and support that contributed to the research.
Editor Responsibilities
- Fairness and Impartiality: Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on their academic merit, relevance to the journal’s scope, and quality, without bias toward the authors’ race, gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, or other characteristics.
- Confidentiality: Editors maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and the peer review process, sharing information only with authorized individuals (e.g., reviewers, editorial board members).
- Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest. Editorial decisions are independent of the publisher or external influences.
- Ethical Oversight: Editors investigate allegations of misconduct promptly and fairly, following COPE guidelines. This includes addressing plagiarism, data falsification, or ethical breaches.
Reviewer Responsibilities
- Objectivity and Expertise: Reviewers provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback, assessing manuscripts based on their scientific rigor, originality, and clarity. Reviewers should only accept assignments within their expertise.
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential and not use or disclose unpublished information for personal gain or other purposes.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts where impartiality could be compromised.
- Ethical Concerns: Reviewers should report suspected ethical issues, such as plagiarism or data manipulation, to the editor for further investigation.
Publisher Responsibilities
- Support for Ethical Standards: The publisher, Sandeep Gupta, ensures that JGTAI adheres to best practices in scholarly publishing, including open-access principles and ethical guidelines.
- Independence: The publisher supports editorial independence and does not influence editorial decisions based on commercial or external considerations.
- Transparency: The publisher ensures that policies, processes, and publication details (e.g., Article Processing Charges) are clearly communicated on the journal’s website (https://jgtai.com).
Handling Misconduct
- Investigation of Allegations: JGTAI investigates all allegations of ethical misconduct, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or authorship disputes, following COPE guidelines. Investigations are conducted confidentially and impartially.
- Corrections and Retractions: Errors identified post-publication will be corrected promptly through errata or corrigenda. In cases of significant ethical breaches, articles may be retracted, with a clear retraction notice published and linked to the original article.
- Appeals and Complaints: Authors or readers may raise concerns or appeal decisions by contacting the Chief Editor at editor@jgtai.com. Complaints are handled transparently and resolved in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Commitment to Open Access
As an open-access journal, JGTAI ensures that all published content is freely accessible under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), promoting ethical reuse and dissemination of research. Authors retain copyright while granting JGTAI the right to publish and distribute their work.
Continuous Improvement
JGTAI is dedicated to regularly reviewing and updating its ethical policies to reflect best practices in scholarly publishing. We encourage feedback from authors, reviewers, and readers to strengthen our commitment to ethical standards.
